There's a lot of talk of a film revival in the air at the mo which reminds me to mention that there's a fantastic B&W developers and printers here in Hackney. Finding someone to do specialist prints such as fibre and lith is getting rarer and rarer so to find somewhere on the doorstep and with fairly decent prices is great.

Apologies for the lack of posts I've been working on stuff I can't put up at the mo. However if you are London based you should get yourself to the screening of Skin- A Documentary by Ryan Hope. Here's the blurb- In a day and age when tattooing is easily as relevant as any other artistic medium, Ryan Hope is set to reveal his premiere documentary, “Skin,” which pushes the boundaries involving art and the human body. The film features contributions from notable artists such as Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons and Raymond Pettibon, in association with Dasha Zhukova’s Garage Magazine. I'm over the moon to announce that some of my work will be featured in the 2nd Annual Mill Co Exhibiton which is taking part from the 14th October to December 2nd. There's a private viewing on Thursday 13th October so if anyone would like to come please send me an email as it's RSVP only. This years theme is type as it's sponsored by Monotype so my pieces will be images featuring text but not going to give anymore away as that will spoil seeing it framed and hung on the wall. Also, apart from my work there's going to be a smorgasbord of great work from all different mediums such as graphic design, illustration, moving image and more so if you're in London come and check it out. P.S. on top of all that music is being provided by Bad Passion and Crazy P are playing live in the courtyard. Gazzas optional!

Mill Co Project: Pinhole Camera Workshop 9th Oct

The Mill Co Project is hosting a Pinhole Camera Worshop on the 9th Oct which is a Sunday. Anyone who's interested in pinhole photography should get involved. Novices welcome. If you've only ever shot digitally (being an old luddite I find this bizarre) it's a great introduction to the beauty and romance of old film techniques!

I met her a couple of times- Once in Liverpool when her first album Frank came out and also a couploe of years later when she was supporting The Arctic Mokeys when they played at Old Trafford in Manchester. She had an amazing talent and it's sad she's no longer around.

Polaroid Grid Film

Thanks to Daniel Cheetham I have a few boxes of Polaroid Grid Film to use. The technical use of this is Polaroid GridFilm has a pre-exposed grid (letters across the top, numbers down the side) on each picture. The grid acts as a scale, allowing you to take accurate measurements and compare photographs over time. I, however will be using to ahoot various bits and bobs.
